The 3 phases of Navratri
Phase 1 - First three days
Maa Durga (Strength and Courage)
The journey begins with cleansing and protection. Durga represents shakti (divine energy) that destroys inner enemies like fear, greed, arrogance and laziness. These three days are about removing negativity, both within us and around us
Phase 2 - Middle three days
Maa Lakshmi (Prosperity and Abundance)
Once negativity is removed, the heart becomes pure and ready to receive blessings. Lakshmi represents abundance and harmony - not only in wealth but in virtues like kindness.
These three days symbolize growth - where positive energy begins to flourish in our lives
Phase 3 - Last three days
Maa Saraswati (Wisdom and Knowledge)
Strength and prosperity have meaning only when guided by wisdom. Saraswati represents knowledge, clarity and higher consciousness.
The final three days are about seeking the wisdom to use power and wealth in the right way
This completes the spiritual journey
Navratri is structured like a step-by-step transformation
- Remove the bad (Durga)
- Then welcome the good (Lakshmi)
- Finally, seek wisdom to guide it all (Saraswati)
These 9 days mirror how we grow as human being
